Podcast #62 : Je lis une vraie carte des vins

Nail your French Pronunciation with this podcast

In my last article, Please. Not “du vin”, I showed you how to order wine in France like a local. Today, we make sure the waiter actually understands what you’re ordering. In this episode, I go through the wine names and wine words that trip up English speakers the most, from Saint-Émilion to Montrachet.

I’m also sharing a PDF with all the vocabulary you need to talk about wine: the basics, the words to describe a glass, useful phrases and idioms, all translated into English.

Allez, on y va.

On commence par les bulles

Champagne, première page. Moussé et Fils. Attention au mot « fils » : on prononce le S, mais pas le L. « Fisse ». Vous le verrez sur beaucoup d’étiquettes : « et Fils », c’est une affaire de famille.
